Double Feature: Peanuts (Nov 2026)
Hosting Double Feature nights is a favorite activity of mine and, thanks to compulsively buying DVDs throughout my 20s, it's a pretty affordable alternative to a nerdy night out. So when nerd culture is getting a little pricey, try out one of our Double Feature nights!
In each one of these posts you will find:
A theme (with dress code)
Two movies and where to watch them
A menu of suggested foods to serve
Activities to enjoy before/during/after the films
A YouTube playlist of trailers for other films that fit the theme
Trailers for the following month's Double Feature theme
A Tidal playlist for pre/post-show tunes
November 2026 - Peanuts
'tis the season when we transition from spooky to holly jolly! While many folks ride this wave by watching The Nightmare Before Christmas, we're going in a different direction and getting warm and cozy with two classic Peanuts specials: A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving and A Charlie Brown Christmas.
Dress Code
Borrow one of my all-time favorite group costume ideas and have everyone dress up as an adult version of a member of the Peanuts gang.
Where to Watch
Both specials (and several other Peanuts specials) are on Apple TV. Looking to get back into physical media? Our favorite DVD store is CD Outlet in Norwood, PA. There is a DVD that has both of these specials plus It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown and It's Christmastime Again, Charlie Brown.
Menu
We're taking inspiration from Charlie Brown's Thanksgiving feast with a little bit of breakfast for dinner for this menu. So whip up some bacon and eggs to accompany your toast, and don't forget to have popcorn and pretzel sticks ready to go as well. For dessert, go with freshly baked cookies and hot chocolate.
Activities
Get your group in gear for some holiday shopping and map out your plans for shopping local on Black Friday, Small Business Saturday, and Museum Store Sunday! Check out our Holiday Shopping Guide for inspiration.
Suggested Films
Here is a YouTube playlist with three other movies that could fit this theme. In this playlist, you'll see trailers for It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown, Snoopy Come Home, and You're a Good Man Charlie Brown. You could swap one or two of these in for the above films, or show these trailers in between the other movies. Your call!
Previews of Coming Attractions
At the end of the evening, give your audience a taste of what's next! In December, we're going full holly and jolly with Elf and the greatest film ever made, The Mupper Christmas Carol. Enjoy the trailers and a little bonus short here.
